My name is Germera Owens, School Counselor. I am from Allendale, South Carolina. I am the mother of one daughter, and I have been a proud educator for 15 years. I graduated from Allendale-Fairfax High School in 2004. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at South Carolina State University in 2008. I also attended Cambridge College where I received my Master's in Counselors Education/Education Specialist Certification in Curriculum and Instruction, and Grand Canyon University where I received my Master's In Educational Administration. My goal as an educator is to do my part in providing a safe and productive learning environment for all students and my focus is to guide and assist students in their academic and social and emotional development. My belief is that all students has the potential to be successful. It just takes having a growth mindset and having a strong support system.

Hello, Estill Elementary School family. My name is Dr. Barrett. I am from Gifford, South Carolina. I graduated from Estill High School, Winthrop University, and the University of South Carolina.  My teaching background is in Early Childhood, Language and Literacy, and Virtual Education. In 2018, I published my first book titled "Breaking into Phonics." My interests are cardio, modeling, reading, vlogging, traveling, museums, and public speaking. I am so excited to be your Reading Interventionist this year. I look forward to sharing my phonics, comprehension, and writing knowledge. I believe in the motto printed on our faculty shirts that states we are "Unstoppable Together".
